The Keepers of the Woods

So now that I have resurrected this blog and aim to post on here at least once every week, you might be wondering who I am and what I do. The first is easy enough - my name is Freddie Foulds. The latter is a bit of a mix. I work as a Librarian by day, and freelance as an archaeological specialist by night. (It's what I am trained to do. I have a PhD and everything!) When I'm not working, I am usually playing roller derby, gaming, or thinking about games in some way.

Keepers of the Woods

All that thinking about games finally paid off in 2015, when I pitched in for the RPGGeek.com One Sheet Gumshoe contest. I wrote a scenario entitled The Keepers of the Woods for Trail of Cthulhu and surprisingly (to me at least) it won. I've since run the scenario for several groups, both at home and at conventions, which has helped me refine it and build it into something approaching the published scenarios that Pelgrane Press distributes in PDF format. So, I approached Cat Tobin and Simon Rogers at Pelgrane, who agreed to host the file as a free download on the Trail of Cthulhu resources page. You can download the scenario completely free here.

Keepers for The Cthulhu Hack

At the same time, Paul Baldowski of Just Crunch Games and creator of The Cthulhu Hack (download it, it is good!), had picked up Keepers for playtesting purposes. That felt pretty awesome. What was more awesome was when Paul approached me to see if he could produce a conversion of the adventure for The Cthulhu Hack. Naturally I jumped at the opportunity. It should hopefully be out in the next month or so in between the many other quality supplements that Paul is churning out to support the game. Again, it should be on a free, or pay what you want, basis.

Whichever version, if you do download a copy, I hope that you enjoy it and it provides your gaming table with a great deal of fun. And if you have any comments, questions, or suggestions please do send them my way.

I hope to produce more adventures in the future and am currently working on something for the new Delta Green Roleplaying Game. That is a story for another post though...
